Business is Looking Up
Actually, it's a freighter heading North under the Blue Water Bridge. But it brings to mind that the shipping season is now open, and the ice flow is heading South.
Let's hope that business in the Blue Water area is up this year and let's buck the trend that we may be heading into a recession.
The Port Huron Casino project is going to make it to a vote in April, and then maybe we can get the Senate to look at it. With the mayor of Detroit in hot water, maybe the city will leave us alone. Many of the crimes committed in the area are imported from the big city. Then the city wants to deny the great people of Port Huron and St. Clair County the increased employment and tax dollars that are so needed.
A great idea to let the management of McMorran Place be shared by the county is a great one. There is a survey recently done that shows that a majority of people support McMorran Place and this support comes from Southern areas far away from Port Huron, as well as those regions that are much closer.
The glass is half-full and I think Port Huron is about to become a bigger player in the hi-tech world that is already blooming in cities like Ann Arbor, Holland, Grand Rapids and Lansing.
